Privacy Policy

Anjella is operated by Anjella Inc. (or its principals prior to incorporation), based in Vancouver, BC, Canada. We are subject to Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable British Columbia privacy legislation.

Location data: If you grant permission, Anjella requests your device's GPS location solely to centre the map on your current position. Your location is used only in the moment — it is never stored on our servers, never logged, and never shared with any third party. If you deny location permission the app functions normally with a default Vancouver map view.

Email address: If you sign up for updates or submit an event you provide your email address voluntarily. We use this to send you confirmations, updates about Anjella, and if you have subscribed, our weekly Vancouver events newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Event submission data: When you submit an event through the app you provide event details including venue name, date, time, description, and your email address. This information is reviewed by our team before any event appears on the map. We retain this information to manage event listings.

Usage data: We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous information about how users interact with Anjella — which pages are visited, how long sessions last, and general geographic region. This data is aggregated and cannot identify you personally.

What we do not collect: We do not collect your name unless you provide it voluntarily. We do not collect payment information — all payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not track your location over time or store location history. We do not collect information from children under 13.

To centre the map on your current location (location data — in session only). To send you event confirmations and app updates (email). To review and approve event submissions before they appear on the map. To send our weekly Vancouver events newsletter if you have subscribed. To understand how people use Anjella and improve the experience (analytics). To respond to your enquiries and support requests.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes. We share information only with trusted service providers required to operate Anjella — Google Analytics, Mailchimp, Formspree, Stripe, and Supabase — each of whom has their own privacy policy. We may disclose information if required by law.

Your data is stored on servers located in the United States (Supabase — US West region). By using Anjella you consent to this transfer. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure.

Under PIPEDA you have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion of your information, withdraw consent to the use of your information, and lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. Anjella uses essential cookies required for the app to function and anonymous analytics cookies through Google Analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser settings though this may affect some functionality.

Anjella is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact hello@anjella.ca if you believe a child has provided us with personal information.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Your continued use of Anjella after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
